Wilson Family Life Update- Summer 2021!!!

I know it has been way too long since I have done a post, but....I'M BACK!!!!

In this post I will update you whats been going on with our family for the past few months and dive deeper into some exciting future hopes and plans for our little crew!

The Last 4 Months- What's Been Happening???

So last post left off with a vague update about a few things so I will clarify a bit more here. Also, things have changed a bit, but we are still aiming at our goals and praying and having faith God will show us the right path and provide because he always does!

Cory

So first off, I mentioned Cory was about to start a new job and it was full time. Well it got pretty crazy. So my husband had accepted a position with Anheuser Busch and works in the Operations Department at their local brewery to us. For the first month he did training and worked M-F and was off weekends with us, but since April 1st he has worked 7 days a week including overtime most weeks and is also working his sheet metal construction job too so I feel like we hardly see him. It kind of gave me a taste of what military wives deal with during deployments or how single parents must do (although not quite as bad as either one!) ...This is all temporary as this position is currently temp to hire and the goal is for him to get hired so we are praying come the temp end date in September he is asked to stay. If you pray please do! This would be HUGE and play a a BIG factor on our future that I will touch more on later, but basically its Union and would have good health benefits and time off, and help us purchase out future first home! I can't wait until September to hopefully get good news on this and get my husband back some weekends because at the point he won't have to work every single one!

Me

As Kelia has grown she is becoming more mobile and harder to keep up with! She also is very needy and clingy and I feel like I never get a break! When I get to shower or go to the bathroom alone it feels like a luxury haha but I wouldn't change mom life for anything! I have been trying to make more friends especially with kids around Kelia's age to relate to and have met a few great women! I hosted a Taco Tuesday event and an Easter Event and have had playdates or gone to Mom Squad meet-ups too! I also have been using The Peanut App to make new friends and have chatted with several now, but not met very many and so many said they would only befriend vaccinated moms so I spur of the moment got vaccinated and then was super sick from the vaccine for a good 2 weeks and now just have lingering post nasal drip, but I was sick enough and lost taste and smell I went and got a covid test to be totally sure I didn't get covid somehow from it or prior to it and thankfully I was negative! Now I am just hoping nothing serious happens from it and hoping to add to our family down the line so I hope so issues with that either as I hear so many things from the media and social media about vaccine side effects! I encourage you to do whatever you feel comfortable doing in terms of vaccines! Just wanted to share my experience! Like I said above its been pretty lonely and tiring without Cory home to help me with day to day things and with Kelia. I am proud of myself for staying busy and on top of everything and not letting this weird period in our lives bring me down in any way.

Kelia

So, our little love bug has had a very eventful and wild few months! Her sleeping schedule has kind of been all over the place and definitely keeps us exhausted on those hard nights or no nap days! She still co-sleeps so one benefit when we move is having her in her own room finally so we can't wait for that! She has also been having eating issues still and we are working on finding foods she likes because she has actually lost weight since her specialist appt in February and they want her to gain! She is trying to talk more, but I noticed she seemed a little behind on development and I reached out to our local child development center and had her evaluated to ease my mind. She is a little behind so she will start working with a speech therapist soon! They also are helping us get an occupational therapist to work on her eating issues as well as address her extreme sensitivity to sounds of any kind! So we can't wait to witness her excel and develop more with the help she's gonna get while she continues growing!

Buster The Doxie AKA Baby#1

Oh I couldn't forget our little buddy and first baby! After all, he completes our little family! Buster has been flare up free from any pancreatitis since right after Kelia was born thank goodness! Praying they continue to stay away for the long haul cuz they can be rough and $$$! We found a new groomer for himn who comes to our home and grooms him in her van and he has never looked cuter or felt softer after she comes so its well worth the money for a couple summer shaves and a few regular grooming throughout the year! Another thing about our little guy is lately he ADORES his sissy, Kelia. He used to be so jealous and hate her, but now he lets her pet him all day long and she will snuggle up to him or put her head on his tummy (while totally supervised of course!) and he totally puts up with her and is so good! The growling and grrrr-ing is minimal now compared to what it was and that makes me so happy! Tigger (my in-laws doxie), however, went from loving her to being annoyed by her and nipping so we have to be careful. Buster though, he even plays with toys and balls with Kelia now or steals from her haha and Kelia loves to help feed him and Tigger everyday! I just love my little family and can't wait until the adventure begins of us on our own!

What's Next For The Wilson Crew?!

Theres 3 main things our little family eventually wants in the near future and we are working to make them come true, but of course, we will let them fall into place when they do and are meant to be.

1. We want to buy a place for our family to live.

2. We want to add one more member to this wild crew to complete our family.

3. We want to add one more dog (probably another dachshund) to our crew.

Future Home

We have begun the home buying process in the sense that we have made sure both our credit is good, got pre-approved for a loan, been researching and watching the market, saved a downpayment, and are excitedly planning what we want and think is best for our family.

Right now, the tentative plan is to purchase a mobile home locally in a park here in California and to live there for 5 or so years and at that time see how everything is with California, housing markets, and our family and figuring out where we would purchase a forever home that we would move into after selling the mobile home. This is all based on the assumption Cory gets to be hired on his job permanently and I am confident he will because he is a hard and dedicated worker and hasn't missed a single day as well as always accepts overtime! They would be foolish not to keep him!

We currently have a storage unit of a ton of home good and furniture and I seriously CAN NOT WAIT to open all my wedding gifts, set up OUR HOME, and then use everything and entertain in our house! So, Who wants to be the first to come over?!

Oh and because I am a crazy, TJ Maxx obsessed, and fun personality kinda gal; our home is bound to be a mix of tropical/hawaiian, beach, and doxie accents and decor! Hahaha

Another Baby Wilson

So if you don't know we had a long tough road to conceiving Kelia and were diagnosed with infertility. She was a total miracle and blessing and we are so grateful! That said though, we really hope to have one more child so Kelia has a sibling and our family would feel totally complete. We hope the process to doing so isn't as hard as it was our first go around, but only time will tell. Our plan is to start trying once we move into our own home and hopefully make Kelia a big sister in 2022 or early 2023 so please keep us in your prayers and send all the baby dust! I am nervous getting my covid shot may make it even harder because its thrown my cycles off already!

Doxie #2

As I know you all know we are very dog people and a total dachshund family! Our first child is our little Buster and he is one of the loves of our lives. The thing is, Buster has never been the only dog in the house and we feel once we move he may get a little lonely. To start we may have Tigger to our house or send Buster to hang with Tigger at my in-laws from time to time, but eventually, probably after we sell the mobile home and move again, we will probably get Buster a fur-sibling/playmate and be dog parents x2! With 2 kids at that point and busy lives I think it would only be fair and nice to have two dogs to keep each other company, snuggle each other, and for us to love together! This is several years down the road so we will see how this looks and turns out, but its definitely something we envision.

Other Things Updated

* After losing my grandma last October, I have finally planned her celebration on life for next month and it should be beautiful and just what she would have wanted and deserves!

* We are taking Kelia after the service to the fair for the first time, I am so excited!

* August marks 10 years since Cory and I met and started dating (and I moved in with him LOL)

I am soon beyond excited for the future and whats to come and finally finally feel like we have a plan and that things will work out!

I hope you all are happy and healthy post pandemic and enjoy your summer! Stay cool!

Love Always,

Alana
